The real 3d effects
implementation introduced in After Effects 5 is very flexible. You can
selectively place some layers in 3D space and leave others in normal 2D.
If you don't explicitly create a 3D camera, the composition uses an
internal default camera. If you do create a camera to fly around your 3D
layers, you don't need to create lights. By real 3d effects
default, the layers keep their original colors as if perfectly
illuminated. You can also add 3D lights to your composition.
Produced for the real 3d effects market, this TVC was for Pepsico
Beverages International. VHQ's VFX supervisor William Woo worked very
closely with Siren Film's director Fredrik Boklund, Impact BBDO,
Jeddah's creative director David Redmond and account director Peter
Stewart during pre-visualisation as the real 3d effects
storyboard was very challenging--12 chimps partying and enjoying the
client's product. The TVC was shot in three days--the first day of
real 3d effects production was the jungle scenes shot on location in
Kuala Lumpur.
ENGINEERS are using advanced 3D virtual reality systems to work 'inside'
CAD models thanks to real 3d effects developed motion analysis
technology designed to create film special effects. US aero-engine giant
Pratt & Whitney has unveiled a system that allows its engineers to wear
VR headsets and gloves and interact with 3D CAD models, testing detailed
real 3d effects maintenance and repair procedures

Maya 8 offers
a combination of 64-bit support, multithreading and algorithmic
optimizations that enable Real 3d effects artists to load massive datasets and interact
with them more efficiently than ever before. Key areas of the software,
including skinning, draw tessellation, and subdivided polygon proxy
meshes, have been multi-threaded to scale with the number of processors
or cores available, thereby accelerating formerly time-consuming tasks
on today's workstations and those of the future. "real photo
texturing, Autodesk Maya 8
software's 64-bit support has opened up a world of possibilities by
allowing our artists to manage very large scenes," said Jack Brooks, VP
Technology, Walt Disney. "Maya 8 is an integral element of our 64- bit
pipeline. We used the beta in pre-production for an upcoming film. Being
able to extend Maya's Real 3d effects functionality through the API allowed us to
customize it to meet our demanding requirements."
Maya 8 offers a host of productivity advancements, real photo
texturing, particularly for
modeling and texturing. The Transfer Polygon Attributes feature enables
modelers to transfer UVs, color per vertex (CPV), and vertex position
information between surface meshes of differing topologies. This is
particularly useful when working with two different real photo
texturing versions of an object or character, e.g. one that is
high-resolution and one that is low-resolution. In addition, new and
improved workflows and tools such as Polygon Bridge, multiple edge loop
insertion and enhanced UV layout help maximize Real 3d effects
productivity for the most common tasks. |
